AAAN Unveils Plan For 2013 LAIF Awards

The LAIF Awards, Nigeria’s advertising industry awards  by the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN) to recognize creativity and innovation in the industry, will hold on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at new Intercontinental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Entries for the awards opened on August 7, 2013 and will close on September 6, 2013. Eligible entries for the award are campaign materials that have been exposed between January 2012 and December, 2012.
This year’s edition of the awards which will double as the grand finale of the 40th anniversary of the AAAN will mark the eighth in the series of the awards which was instituted in 2006
According to the Chairman of LAIF Management Board and the Group CEO of LTC-JWT, Charles Abraham, this year’s LAIF Awards dinner is expected to be a stellar event with maximum attendance.
Abraham disclosed that there will be an exhibition highlighting the “40 years of Nigerian Advertising” during the week running up to the awards night.
“LAIF Awards Seminar and Exhibition which will provide a platform for industry stakeholders to jointly discuss issues that affect the industry will hold on Thursday, October 31, 2013.
The event will also showcase 40 years of organised creative advertising in Nigeria, he said adding that the LAIF Awards aims to recognise, reward and foster creative excellence in all areas of brand communications.
“The awards sets a benchmark for the best creative communication from Nigeria And it encompass all areas of brand communications including television, radio, print, and new media with each category having 12 sub-categories.
“Awards will be given in Gold, Silver and Bronze for each sub-category and the Gold winner of each sub-category will compete for the grand prix in that category.
In all 144 awards will be presented.”
Similarly, the YOUNG LAIFERS competition, introduced during the 7th edition by the LAIF Awards Management Board for young practitioners aged 30 years old and below will hold on October 30, 2013
