Access bank Plc has engaged entrepreneurs in the hospitality industry in a business growth forum in Lagos.
The business growth forum is the maiden
edition of the bank’s monthly series where it interacts with
entrepreneurs across various sectors.
Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, group managing
director/CEO, acknowledged the participants as the entrepreneurs that
have the courage and vision to run their own business in whatever sector
they find themselves making economies whatever they are globally.
“We have always known this and we have
always believed that the future of Access Bank relies in our ability to
serve great entrepreneurs like you,” he said.
He told the participants that aside credit
and banking services, for the entrepreneur, the most important thing
that their bank provides for them is advice, networking and just an ear
to be there for them when they want to express themselves.
“These sessions are meant to be like a
steroid injection into your business where you spend hours with intense
discussions. We hope that through this process of monthly interaction,
the process of building relationship would be improved,” he said.
Making a presentation on ‘Access bank value
propositions to hospitality business’, Mike Nwankwo, zonal head for
business banking, Access bank, Port Harcourt, saw great opportunities in
the industry considering the positive forecast in the economy.
However, he noted there are challenges which include capital intensive, no trust of employees and high turnover rate.
“That is why Access Bank has put up this
forum to interact with people like you to see how these challenges can
be addressed to further enhance your business,” he said.
According to him, the bank has created a unique account that would address the business of the entrepreneurs.
“We know that paying COT will be very
difficult for you, we know that you have employees who may need soft
loans in form of salary advance, and we have created a hybrid current
account that has many features to take care of these,” he said.
