Apple, Etisalat sign fresh iPad deal in Nigeria

Core Group Africa, Apple Incorporated value added distributor for Nigeria, said on Wednesday that it had entered into strategic partnership deal with Etisalat to deliver iPad in Nigeria.
Customers that buy an iPad Wi-Fi + Cellular (3rd generation) from any Apple Authorized Reseller (AAR) in the country get the device as well as a one-year data plan on Etisalat’s high speed broadband service.
“Offering a one-year data plan inclusive with the purchase of an iPad from authorized resellers is further testament to our commitment to establish an official reseller channel in Nigeria”, according to Rutger-Jan van Spaandonk, executive director of Core Group Africa, Apple’s sole official representative in the country.
“It is important for Nigerians to have the assurance that when buying iPads from authorized resellers, they know it is the genuine article, warranty will be honored and after-sales service will be provided”.
“In addition to data plan, customers also get one extra year of warranty when they purchase from AARs plus the general one year warranty on the device.
“There is no longer any reason not to buy from officially appointed resellers”, Van Spaandonk added.
The amount of free data depends on the iPad model purchased. Customers get 300MB, 500MB or 750MB every month for 12 months (in total 3.6GB, 6.0GB and 9.0GB) when buying a 16GB, 32GB or 64GB iPad Wi-Fi + Cellular, respectively. The value of these packages range from N18,000 for the 300MB one to N36,000 for the 750MB one.
Speaking in the same vein, Lucas Dada, director of products and services, Etisalat Nigeria, said, “We are delighted to have been chosen as the official provider of the free iPad data plan in Nigeria.
